Love Life
This is not in the spirit of Valentine's, but I will always have a soft spot for 14th February this year. I found out that I am the love of someone's life. I am to him what Yusry is to me. And all this while I wonder who can ever really like me, not to mention love. We spoke once in college, over dinner. He bought me chocolates, magazines and fruits when I broke my leg but never came round to giving it to me. Technology brought us back in touch, true, but I am very sure there is a more magical power working out there. I am not in love with him now, not yet, but there will always be a special place in my heart for the man who loves me because he wants to, despite knowing that I don't love him back, yet,
my facial muscle are tense from constant contraction, a consequence of my smiling from sunset to sunset ;):):):):):):):):):):):)

Run your car off the side of the road
Get stuck in a ditch in the middle of nowhere
Get yourself in a bind, lose the shirt of your back
Need a floor need a couch need a bus fare
This is where the rubber meets the road
This is where the cream is gonna rise
This is what you really don't know
This is where the truth don't lie
You find out who your friends are
Somebody gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas get there fast
Never stop to think 'what's in it for me' or 'it's way too far'
They just show up with their big old heart
You find out who your friends are
Everybody wants to slap your back shake your hands
When you up on top of that mountain
But let one of those rocks give way then you slide back down, look up
and see who's around then
This ain't where the road comes to an end
This ain't where the bandwagon stops
This is just one of those times when
A lot of folks jump off
When the water's high
When the weather's not so fair
When the well runs dry
Who's gonna be there?

Learn
After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
And you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn
that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye,
... you learn.
